Looking for the top things to do after installing Xubuntu 18.04 Bionic Beaver? Well Commix and More gives you the top things to do after installing Xubuntu 18.04. Ubuntu and its flavors, including Xubuntu, Ubuntu with xfce desktop manager, recently released its Long Term Support Release or LTS for short. Anyways, here are the things you should do: First, make sure you get the latest updates Ubuntu has on its repositories. To do this, just look for the Software Updater and update your software to its latest version. Second, choose the best server for your newly installed ubuntu system. Just head over to the Software & Updates App and choose the best server there. Third, manually update your system to test out the new server. Open the Terminal and type: sudo apt uodate. After which you can also type: sudo apt upgrade. Fourth, now its time to install software! Open the Gnome Software Center aka Software and install your preferred software of choice. Audacity was shown here as an example. Fifth is a highly recommended software. Install Gparted. Gparted is not installed by default on a fresh install of Xubuntu. And lastly, open the terminal and install the media codecs you need to run proprietary applications (like Adobe Flash for example). To do this type: sudo apt install ubuntu-restricted-extras. And that is it! Your new Xubuntu 18.04 is now ready for use. If you like this video, give it a thumbs up. If you have questions or clarifications, please leave it in the comments below.
