Run Windows EXE Programs in Ubuntu 16.04 (Eskwela OS) using Wine and PlayOnLinux

In this Commix and More video, we are going to run windows programs (exe) on an Ubuntu 16.04 using PlayOnLinux and Wine.

Wine is a compatibility layer of Linux to run windows applications. PlayOnLinux is a front-end GUI of Wine which lets you install windows applications and run it inside a linux environment.





In this tutorial video, we are using Eskwela OS 4. This is a distribution based on Xubuntu 16.04 LTS. Eskwela OS is a lightweight operating system for older computers but will also make newer systems work faster and seamless.

Step:
1. sudo apt-get update
2. sudo apt-get install wine
3. Download the PlayOnLinux.deb for Ubuntu (link in description)
4. open the Downloads Folder
5. Right click - Open Terminal Here
6. sudo dpkg -i PlayOnLinux.x.x.deb (name of the deb file)
7. sudo apt-get -f install (to correct depedencies)
8. Run and Test Windows Applications
